shabby chic beach house

This summer is already so busy it's crazy! I'm working for two local companies that I love love love and will share with you soon. I'm also volunteering twice a week for my FAVORITE philanthropy, the YWCA, learning the behind the scenes of a charitable organization… and making lots of copies haha. It's also the time for college apps! I can't believe it, it's so crazy to think that in just a year I'll be heading off to college.

In this time of crazy work and decision making business, I've managed to create a new Pinterest board dedicated to my latest fantasy. A shabby chic beach house:

Lots of white, open windows, sea air, and delicious cool, fruity, and refreshing drinks. Sounds like heaven :)

Maybe one day I'll make enough with my fancy college degree to have a shabby chic summer beach house. Or maybe I'll just live in Manhattan Beach full time in a little shabby chic beach cottage.

Summer dreams….

fashionable philanthropy

I had an interview today for the Nordstrom Fashion Board at our local mall which was super exciting! Crossing my fingers I'll get in. But afterwards I had some extra time, and a light load of homework so I decided to take a little stroll around and inevitably popped into one my favorite stores: Kate Spade. I wasn't planning on buying anything, but as I was walking around one of the display tables, I noticed a little bowl of friendship bracelets. I picked one up and read the tag which said, Kate Spade has teamed up with the Artisans of Masoro, "over 150 Rwandans whose skills have become the foundation of a new small business that is reshaping the quality of life for 20,000 people in their community". It's called ONPURPOSE.  And even cooler, each tag has the name of the person who made the bracelet on it, an even more personal touch that really connects you to the cause. It tugged on my heartstrings and resonated with my love of helping support others, so I had to pick one up...

Oh! And did I mention they're adorable!

Go out and buy one today, and support a cause that's worth it.

Sabrina Kate: Amateur Wedding Photographer

Yesterday I had the privilege to attend my boyfriend's sister's wedding! I got to photograph the gorgeous bride and groom throughout their special day, and thought I'd share some of the beautiful pictures! A simple, yet beyond special and heartfelt day for both families who have now become one.

Weddings are, in my opinion, the best holidays. They bring people together in a way that no other day can. It was such a special day and I'm glad I got to be part of it!

Congratulations Katie and Keith! Wishing you a happy and healthy marriage for many years to come!

Ready for Spring!

We had one sunny warm (well 60 degrees so warm for Seattle) day last week and it just had me yearning for the glow of spring time! I'm ready for spring break, fresh flowers, and it finally being appropriate to wear BRIGHT colors!

Now, who knows if I'll ACTUALLY be wearing shorts or mini dresses any time soon, considering the chill of the Northwest, but maybe Spring Break in LA will give me a chance to sport these little looks.

(BTW dying for those pom-pom shorts and love the look of the booties with the bold dress)

Keepin' it Simple

Woke up late today :/ Whoops! So I had to keep it simple as I ran out the door this morning. (I was literally running in my little black booties.)

I threw on some dark skinny jeans (a must have for every girl!) from American Eagle, a mustard colored sweater from J. Crew and my adorable olive green and leather jacket that my boyfriend got me from Pacsun. I quickly ran a straightener through my newly ombre-d hair (so exciting!!) and I scooted out the door with only seconds to spare.

Of course I ended up forgetting stuff. I had to slip back home at lunch to pick up some books and my laptop that I'd left behind.

Oh the joys of high school and Mondays….

East Coast College Trip!

My first big college trip was a few weeks ago! 7 colleges. 6 days. Very little sleep. Insanity! But so much fun.

My mom and I took advantage of one of our week long breaks from school and took the red eye to Boston to begin our fete de universite! But, by the time we got to the information session at Boston College (which I loved), I had to hold my eyes open to stay awake. That's not a joke. I was so exhausted from the flight that sitting down became dangerous. Luckily, I got to sleep on the train to New York, though my mom didn't greatly appreciate me splaying my arms and legs across my seat as well as hers.

We spent the weekend first in Pennsylvania visiting UPenn and Bryn Mawr (I surprisingly liked UPenn a lot even though it's a city school), then in New York, having brunch with some family there and then touring Barnard and Columbia with my cousin who's a student at Barnard.

Sunday night we took the train to Washington D.C. and stayed in a lovely hotel in Georgetown (The Dupont Circle Hotel - I highly recommend it!). Monday was our Georgetown tour, and come on, who couldn't love Georgetown! Such an amazing college and a beautiful campus.

Tuesday we made the drive to University of Virginia, a lovely three hours, fueled by Starbucks of course. I absolutely loved UVA. The history, the architecture, the traditions, the secret societies! Such a great experience :)

I'm sure this will be the first of many college trips before next fall, once the application process begins. Until then, life will be as stressful as ever as I head into the home stretch, studying as hard as I ever will!

Pinspiration Vol. 3

Today, I was feeling fancy and I felt like throwing on some sequins. So I pulled out this sequin skirt that I bought about 4 years ago on my first ever Black Friday shopping trip. I waited in line for three hours (literally) at the Gap to buy it, and I haven't worn it since. No time like the present! And I was inspired by this adorable pic on Pinterest:

I didn't have a navy Irish Fisherman's sweater but I did have a white one! From the Gap, ironically! I added some gray tights for warmth and my vintage cowboy boots, which are my new favorite shoes!

Happy almost Friday!!!
